Auburn Chamber of Commerce Announces New Chamber & Community Business Center as Part of “75 Years Strong” Campaign

AUBURN, Ala. — The Auburn Chamber of Commerce is excited to share plans for its new Chamber & Community Business Center and celebrate early momentum in its 75 Years Strong capital campaign — a transformational initiative designed to support the continued growth and success of Auburn’s vibrant business community.

For more than 75 years, the Chamber has played a central role in shaping Auburn’s economic landscape, supporting local businesses, and fostering an environment where entrepreneurship and collaboration thrive. As Auburn continues to experience historic growth, the Chamber is taking a major step forward to ensure it remains a resource, convener, and leader for decades to come.

The new building — approximately 7,100 square feet — will be built on the Chamber’s existing centrally located site, preserving accessibility and convenient parking. With the current facility limited by age and structural constraints, the new space will provide the modern flexibility and capacity necessary to meet the needs of a growing membership and expanding programming. The design includes a 2,277-square-foot main meeting hall, a 50% increase in size from the current space. Additionally, the building will feature multiple indoor and outdoor gathering areas, two courtyards, updated office space for the Chamber team, and approximately 38 parking spaces located primarily behind the building to better serve members and event attendees. State-of-the-art technology, ADA-accessible design elements, and a warm, welcoming aesthetic — reflecting a residential-style character distinct from university and municipal buildings — will ensure the new space fosters connection, innovation, and community.

Designed by SS&L Architects and constructed by Bailey-Harris Construction, the project represents a significant investment in Auburn’s business infrastructure. Construction is scheduled to begin in late spring 2026 and is expected to take approximately 12 months. Once complete, the Chamber & Community Business Center will serve as a regional hub for collaboration, offering flexible environments for board meetings, leadership programs, professional development workshops, networking events, and civic discussions.

The facility is being funded through the Chamber’s 75 Years Strong campaign, a $3.5 million initiative supporting both the building project and four strategic program areas focused on business growth, workforce and talent development, public policy and advocacy, and expanded engagement of young professionals. The Chamber has already secured more than $1 million in early commitments from community investors who believe in this long-term vision. The campaign offers multiple investment opportunities, including one-time contributions, in-kind support, and five-year pledges. Naming opportunities for spaces within the new building begin at $10,000, while program recognition levels start at $2,500 annually. As a 501(c)(3) organization, the Auburn Chamber Foundation is able to receive charitable contributions in support of the campaign.

“This project represents an exciting new chapter for Auburn’s business community,” said Anna Hovey, President & CEO of the Auburn Chamber. “Our members are growing, our initiatives are expanding, and Auburn’s economy continues to accelerate. This new home will give us the space, technology, and resources to continue supporting businesses at every stage and bring even more opportunities to our community. We are incredibly grateful for our early investors whose leadership is helping turn this vision into reality.”

The Chamber invites business leaders, investors, and community supporters to join in shaping Auburn’s future through participation in the 75 Years Strong campaign. Interested investors are encouraged to contact the Chamber for a personal conversation with Hovey to explore contribution opportunities and learn more about the long-term impact of this initiative.

With expanded capacity, new collaborative environments, and enhanced programming capabilities, the Auburn Chamber & Community Business Center will ensure Auburn remains a place where businesses thrive, leaders connect, and future generations are inspired to build and lead. The project reinforces the Chamber’s commitment to advancing Auburn’s economy and serving as a partner, champion, and resource for the local business community.
